Bushfire and Drought Relief

As proud advocates for supporting local business and growers, Mantle Group Hospitality was deeply saddened to see the effects of the 2019 bushfires and drought on Aussie farmers.

In response to these horrifying natural disasters, Mantle Group Hospitality decided to raise money for the farmers and families affected by natural disasters through an Australia Day long lunch event.

Australia Day 2020 saw Brisbane’s The Charming Squire host a long lunch, with all ticket sales and proceeds going directly to Aussie farmers in need. The fundraiser was prepared and curated by renowned Brisbane chefs Deniz Coskun, Tony Tierney, Steve Hursey and Jason Anderson, with meals complimented by a range of James Squire and limited series brews.

Along with The Charming Squire Long Lunch, a karma keg initiative took place across Mantle Group Hospitality’s other venues, including selected Pig ‘N’ Whistle and Jimmy’s on the Mall.

All proceeds went directly to Rural Aid, one of Australia’s largest rural charities helping farmers recover from recent catastrophic events.

Specifically, the donation bought an entire semi-trailer truckload of hay for a farmer’s livestock, 18 small bales of hay, a pre-paid visa card for a farming family to spend in their local community and truckloads of water for a rural family.
